The project comprises the conversion of the redundant five storey Harrow Road police station into 20no apartments. The existing two storey cell block will also be converted into 3no ‘Mews’ type apartments. In addition a new five storey building, including basement car park and 40no apartments, is to be constructed within the bounds of the existing police station car park.

The apartments are to be a mixture of Private, Affordable and Rented.

The existing buildings are to be refurbished to the latest Building Regulations Part L1B with the new build five storey building to comply with Building Regulations L1A.

The development is to be provided with a central gas boiler plant producing all heating and hot water requirements for the residential dwellings. All units are provided with Heat Interface Units, automatic billing system, heating will be provided via radiators and underfloor heating.

Photovoltaics on the roof will be provided to ensure that the building meets the carbon and energy savings required for Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
