The Role of FHP
Following successful delivery and implementation of a previous MEP project, TClarke approached FHP to request the services of a Design Manager to oversee the completion of the remaining design packages at BSCU.
While this was not a service FHP were actively marketing at the time, it was one they were able to offer, having several staff with the necessary experience to fulfil such a role.
Challenges
Given the advanced stage of the project when FHP’s services were employed, knowledge of both the project as a whole and the outstanding design packages had to be gained very quickly on a steep learning curve.
Providing management to an already-established design team was an expected issue but this was swiftly mitigated by having individual meetings with each member to understand their role to date and manage their upcoming tasks and workload.
Due to the nature and the stage of the project, FHP had to ensure the client was being accurately and robustly represented in the daily meetings with the main contractor and London Underground, as well as presenting a clear case of progress and estimated programme to completion.
“It was a pleasure to work with FHP on both the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade and Duke of York as part of the Victoria Station Upgrade. They bring an excellent level of professionalism and experience.
FHP provided us with the “Full Package Deal” a team of cutting-edge designers, dedication and passion, going that extra mile. We look forward to working with them in the future.”
