A development comprising of mixed use new build residential and commercial units over two phases consisting of 13 blocks, each connected to a Central District Heating Energy Centre, as well as the phased completion of Primary School with Commercial Kitchen.
Specifically designed to allow for a phased handover, Phase 1 comprised of 212 new build mixed use residential, 242sqm of commercial space over 4 blocks, including 19-storey building and a Primary School.
Phase 2 comprised of 78sqm new build mixed use residential and 5,112sqm of commercial space over 9 blocks.
The Role of FHP
FHP was appointed by Taylor Wimpey to progress the design from Stage E to handover for the M&E Services Construction Design. Building Information Modelling (BIM) was used to produce a 3D co-ordinated model of the Energy Centre and Primary School.
Challenges
To ensure the Primary School remained operational during each construction phase, the construction of the new Primary School was built in two phases and the services were designed specifically to allow phased completion and handover.
