FHP was appointed by Sherwood Forest Hospital NHS Trust as part of the framework team to carry out work on several projects to design the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services at Kings Mill Hospital, Sutton in Ashfield.
The Role of FHP
One of these projects was to carry out the detailed design and coordination of the mechanical and electrical services associated with the conversion of the existing wards 4 and 5 within the hospital to form new office and administration accommodation.
FHP was also appointed to carry out the project engineering and all snagging of the site for the mechanical and electrical services.
The site was handed over the hospital trust on time, and within budget.
Challenges
One of the challenges of the project was that the works were carried out in a “live” hospital environment, therefore it was essential to ensure that the existing services were kept operational at all times during the works.
